Yarra View Golf Club Major Events

MAJOR EVENTS

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
The championship is decided over three 18 hole rounds of stroke play with the
lowest overall score winning the Club Champion title. A and B grade handicap Club
Champions are also crowned.

Members must have returned 15 completed cards in Yarra View GC club
competitions before the first round of the Club Championships. These 15
completed cards are accumulated from 1st November each year. In the final round
the four leaders in each grade of the Club Championships are required to play in
the same group for the final round; as directed by the Match Committee.

PRESIDENTS AND HANDICAPPERS TROPHIES
A 18 hole stroke qualifing round is played for the back plates. The top 16 qualify
for the four rounds of matchplay also played from the 'Back Plates'. A straight
knockout 18 hole matchplay played as a totally separate competition to the days
event.

CAPTAIN'S CUP
The Captain's Cup is played over 15 rounds of stableford competition as detailed in
the syllabus. The best ten scores recorded in those fifteen round played are then
calculated to ascertain the winning competitor.

MEMORIAL TROPHY
Dedicated to a dearly missed member. Awarded to the best overall score on the
day in Stroke competition.

DIGITS
Eight teams of two compete in modified handicap based matchplay. Knockout
decides the winner over 3 weeks. In addition to a point for winning a hole, points
are also awarded for hitting greens, closest to the pin, birdies and eagles. This is
a formalised version of the popular 'side game' that some members choose to play
in addition to the days official competition.

ECLECTIC
Played over eight rounds. The best score achieved for each hole is recorded and
half the players handicap deducted.
